About Me
I am currently a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. My research specializes in vibration energy harvesting, wireless structural monitoring, reconfigurable design, design methodology, and design-by-analogy techniques. If you would like to discuss my work or just get in touch, feel free to contact me
here.
I grew up in the Dallas, Texas area, where I participated in Jazz Band, Marching Band, and Academic Decathlon. After spending two years in southern India as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I completed my Bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University in Mechanical Engineering. During this time, I had the privilege of working as an intern at a small start-up company called Aribex, Inc. I signed on as one of the first employees and watched as it grew into a worldwide manufacturer of hand-held x-ray equipment.
Since 2006, I have lived in Austin, Texas with my wife and three children. While at The University of Texas, I have worked on projects with fellow graduate students and professors, high school educators, commercial clients, technical partners at National Instruments and WJE & Associates, and personnel at the Air Force Research Laboratory, USAFA, and NIST.
I also edit scientific articles for American Journal Experts, a firm that specializes in
journal editing for researchers worldwide.
My wife, Annamaria, is a wonderful mom and enjoys being a professional photographer in her spare time. You can see some of her work at
